David King has been training professionally since 1983 and his winning records reflect his wonderfully natural talent. You can tell at first glance that the dogs he trains and handles really do love him.
 There are many trainers in all sections of the country and just as many ways to train a bird dog. What sets David apart from many of the other trainers is, his ability to quickly assess the dogs personality and temperament, thereby giving him the ability to train to that dogs way of thinking. Not all dogs are built the same in body & soul, so the training must be customized to each dog.
When a dog first arrives, for the first two weeks, He does no training - only evaluation and socialization with the dog. This means he closely evaluates the dog's personality and temperament before teaching.
He will also assess your dogs potential and will let you know if he feels you have a good candidate, for either a "hunting" dog or a competitive Field Trial dog.
He will train your hunting dog to be just a "meat" dog who is generally foot handled, or if you have the competitive spirit, he will train your dog for the Field Trials, (provided your dog has all the necessary attributes).
In June 2003, David moved his training operation to RoyaleRun Kennel, located inn Abbeville, Georgia. He has access to several large areas of land where he trains and has state land usage in Colorado and Kansas, for training.
He has puppy-training programs, intermediate training, and finished bird dog programs. 
David has owned Shorthairs since 1980, bringing one to America he purchased in England, which was once his home. He originally started with his dogs in the Show ring, but quickly switched to competing in Field Trials. He has lost count but guesses he has obtained over 50 Field Trial Champion titles on his dogs and his client’s dogs over the years. David trains dog’s full time, not just shorthairs, but all the pointing breeds & he really doesn’t consider it a "job". For those who know him, they know he just loves what he does!
